چکیده

We report herein on new zircon U–Pb ages, the major and trace elements of whole-rock, Sr–Nd–Hf isotope composition for adakitic intrusives collected from West Ujimqin district in Southeast region Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB). These data provide important constraints petrogenetic evolution geodynamic setting late Permian magmatism CAOB. The dating shows that ages Seerbeng pluton Nuhetingshala are 255.3 ± 0.71 254.4 1.2 Ma, respectively, which signifies these products magmatic activity Permian. characterized by high levels Sr (Sr ≥ 741 ppm), low Y, Yb, Sr:Y ratios, strongly fractionated rare earth (10.3 < La N /Yb 22.5), is similar to features adakite. zircons exhibit positive Hf values (+8.1 +13.3), young two-stage model vary 430 760 Ma. ε Nd (t) ( 87 Sr: 86 Sr) i indicate granite derived partial melting subducted oceanic slab. level Mg # [100 × Mg/(Mg + Fe) atomic number] abundant Cr–Ni melts interacted with olivine rocks mantle. Considering results regional rock assemblies, we conclude Paleo-Asian Ocean had not yet completely closed Permian, northward subduction continued, slab possibly breaking off.

Permian vegetational Pompeii from Inner Mongolia and its implications for landscape paleoecology and paleobiogeography of Cathaysia.

Plant communities of the geologic past can be reconstructed with high fidelity only if they were preserved in place in an instant in time. Here we report such a flora from an early Permian (ca. 298 Ma) ash-fall tuff in Inner Mongolia, a time interval and area where such information is filling a large gap of knowledge. About 1,000 m(2) of forest growing on peat could be reconstructed based on th...

Middle Paleozoic convergent orogenic belts in western Inner Mongolia (China): framework, kinematics, geochronology and implications for tectonic evolution of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt

Based mainly on field geological observation and geochronologic data, six tectonic units have been recognized in western Inner Mongolia (China), including, from south to north: North China Craton (NCC), Southern Orogenic Belt (SOB), Hunshandake Block (HB), Northern Orogenic Belt (NOB), South Mongolia microcontinent (SMM), and Southern margin of Ergun Block (SME), suggesting that the tectonic fr...

Geochemistry and petrogenesis of the early Palaeozoic appinite-granite complex in the Western Kunlun Orogenic Belt, NW China: implications for Palaeozoic tectonic evolution

The Datong pluton, the largest early Palaeozoic granitoid in the Western Kunlun Orogenic Belt (WKOB) in NW China, is a typical appinite-granite complex. It consists of diorites, quartz diorites, monzodiorites, quartz monzodiorites, monzonites, quartz monzonites, syenites, granodiorites and monzogranites. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) zircon U–Pb dating ...
